Photo Tips
Photographing your pet for a portrait
|

 |
When I work from your photos,
the quality of the photos you send me is crucial to the accuracy and quality of the
finished portrait.
Some tips to keep in mind:
- Get as CLOSE as possible without blurring the image.
- Focus on your horse's FACE and head (unless you want a whole body
drawing).
- Take the photos OUTDOORS in good natural light (a bright overcast
day works best).
- The best view of your horse is usually THREE-QUARTERS.
- Try to keep the background LIGHT or uncomplicated.
- Take photos from SEVERAL ANGLES or different poses
- I can only work with what I can see, if you have a particular expression,
ear set etc. that you want in the portrait be sure that it is in the photos.
-
If possible send a selection of photos and indicate your favorite, this
helps me get a "feel" for your horse.
